Stevie B: The Puppets and Me!

In 2012, Steven was asked to perform some music for preschoolers in Crittenden County, Kentucky. He wasn't sure exactly what he was going to do for this show, but knew he had some poppy songs in his repertoire, the enthusiasm to make it happen... and puppets. He organized a setlist of some "kid-friendly" selections, and recruited a couple of his high school art students to be puppeteers. The performance was well recieved, and Steven began getting similar offers from other venues. It was time to add some actual children's music to his discography. Steven spent several days in the studio to compile tracks that blended heartfelt lyrics with 90s-style hip hop beats and warbled vocals that were inspired by bands such as the Flaming Lips and Tripping Daisy. The result was an LP entitled: Stevie B: The Puppets and Me!

"Fred" was the first single from the album and it was given out on CD at all of the children's performances. Steven hand-decorated the packaging for the CDs with googly eyes, and glitter glue, positioning the word "Fred" to serve as the mouth for the funny faces.

Time constraints and the accumulation of two wonderful babies of his own have caused Steven to have to keep pushing back the release of the LP. However, 2016 looks like it just might be the year! Come back and visit the monkey puppet icon to keep up with Stevie B and his friends :-)
