Record Spins the Tunes of Past

As the world makes her dizzy, she asks herself the questions, like is he or isn't he in love? She looks up at the ceiling, at the stars stuck on her ceiling and the posters she's got hung up on the wall. And even though she's 28, she still can't find a single date to make up for that flop way back at prom.

But the times were better then, we all know that it's true.

This is now and that was then.

And when they say look to the future, well it's hard because we all know

Where we've been

Her record spins the tunes of past while her friends have all grown up too fast, and she's still left with questions in her head. Like where to go and what to do and who to do them with or to, and you... do you know where you've been?

But the times were better then, we all know that it's true.

This is now and that was then.

And when they say look to the future, well it's hard because we all know

Where we've been

To Urgency

Never find yourself awake, dreaming every day, as if it were for play.

And you don't have a home to go when you're in this world, avoiding all your cares.

Deck the halls with memories of how it was once to be

But this is now, you gotta' see

This ain't the time for memory

Wake up now to urgency

Afraid to show / afraid to see

The time is now the time to be

Someone new and someone free

Hit the bell, somnambulist

Hit the wall, but hit with fist

Wake up now to urgency

Afraid to show / afraid to see

Wherewithal

There's a girl I know, who likes to sit where the flowers grow. And all the birds that fly around, they help to settle the voices down.

All the people she meets think that Jesse is really neat, but at night, sometimes with the guys, she cries when she goes down.

There's a girl I know, who wears a face, but she doesn't show all that's locked up inside. And I die when she cries, and the world goes 'round.

And she wears a frown when she goes down.

And the world goes 'round.

Let's Concentrate

Let's burn our way through these walls of hate

Let's toss our friends aside for one moment

Let's concentrate on who is watching us

Let us feel for them too

Let's tell our brothers what glory they have found

Let's tell our fathers what smothered them to the ground

Let's burn our way through these walls of hate

Let's toss our friends aside for one moment

Let's concentrate on who is watching us

Let us feel for them too

You know that I wanna' find somehow

My true destiny

I don't know how

Angels in the East

No time for me, it's all gone away.

The more I breathe, the more she takes away.

And I can see her shadow on the wall

I'll try to catch it, if ever she may fall

Can you tell me, do they fly angels in the east?

And can you tell me if I should try to tame the one who came to visit me?

The wind, it blows, and cuts through me.

With my heart hung by the door, I sleep.

A thief, she enters, and softly creeps.

To steal my heart, and abandon me.

Can you tell me, do they fly angels in the east?

And can you tell me if I should try to tame the one who came to visit me?

Now I am burdened with a thought I should not think.

Could we be more than just "her" and "me?"

And am I wrong to wish for wings so I may fly

Along side my angel to the east?

Can you tell me, do they fly angels in the east?

And can you tell me if I should try to tame the one who came to visit me?

Feed the Day

It takes a lot to feed a day

In love it's hard, the words to say

When in your head it all sounds fine

But really hurts when comes the time

Open up and bleed it out

Cry it out, it helps with the pain

There are many days that, too, will come

When the other one feels bad too

Remember what you once were told

That raindrops fall in bits of gold

When summer comes, and clouds are high

Open up and bleed it out

Cry it out, it helps with the pain

There are many days that, too, will come

When the other one feels bad too

It's all the same, it's all a shame

You let it all get you down

And you can't see the colors plain

You can't see at all

Open up and bleed it out

Cry it out, it helps with the pain

There are many days that, too, will come

When the other one feels bad too

Moral Support

When you're lost and can't find your way, need somebody to brighten your day. Don't you fret, don't be afraid baby... you need moral support from the opposite sex! School's a joke, you ain't got no friends. Need somebody to hold your hand and walk with you down the yellow brick road, so I'm told I need moral support from the opposite sex! So next time that you're holding your head, go out and party instead of climbing in bed, and most importantly... keep singing this song in your head! You need moral support from the opposite sex, baby.

Diary of an Inmate

Sitting in a jail cell, trying to plan my escape. There's not a person who I can tell. No, that would be a big mistake. I stole a spoon from the mess hall; hid it down my pants. When they led me back to my cell, I stashed it someplace safe. I am a free man. I didn't do anything. By the time that they said "light's out," I was already half gone. For sixteen years now I've been tunneling. Jeez, has it been that long? They sent a team out to chase me down, to put me back in that hole with the dark, with the rats... the memories. My God! Not again! I am a free man. I didn't do anything. Those guys, they never found me. No sir, I ran away. Not to Mexico, not to Cuba... someplace FARTHER away! Right now I am happy. Yeah, I'm right at home. I'm living with the aliens, they took me home. I am a free man, I didn't do anything. I didn't do anything.

All by Myself

I've looked for her everywhere, the girl of my dreams, but everywhere I looked was wrong, was wrong. The sun was shining so I went for a walk down by the lake. I found a love that I thought was true, but then I found it was fake. My first mistake was loving too much (it wasn't too much for me,) and then I failed by not loving enough, but was that love really real? Don't leave me there, all by myself. Come, take my hand, give me love, give me love. So for now I just lie in my guilt for hurting those who were dear, and I now blame myself... the worst is yet to come I fear. Don't leave me there, all by myself. Come, take my hand, give me love, give me love.

See You Again

I've got my sights set on you, and I'm ready to aim. I have a heart that will never be tamed. I knew you were something special when you spoke my name, now I can't wait to see you again. I've got a way of knowing when something is right. I feel like I must have known you in another life. Cause I felt this deep connection when you looked in my eyes, now I can't wait to see you again.

The last time I freaked out, I just kept looking down. I stu-stu-stuttered when you asked me what I'm thinking about. Felt like I couldn't breath, you asked what's wrong with me. My best friend, Leslie, said, "Oh she's just being Miley." The next time we hang out, I will redeem myself, my heart can't rest tell then. I can't wait to see you again.

I got this crazy feeling deep inside when you called and asked to see me tomorrow night. Now, I'm not a mind reader, but I'm reading the signs... that you can't wait to see me again.

The last time I freaked out, I just kept looking down. I stu-stu-stuttered when you asked me what I'm thinking about. Felt like I couldn't breath, you asked what's wrong with me. Will You Be Comin' Home

And now I wonder how you've been. And now I wonder how you've been, you're so old now. And now I wonder how she's been. And now I wonder how she's been, she's so lonely now. Will you be coming home? Will she be coming home?
